The Costa Blanca has long been popular with British tourists who are looking to enjoy a HOT Holiday in the Spanish sun.
That sun is pretty much guaranteed during the summer months, when the average temperature will sit well into the high 20s but even during the winter months, you’ll get average temperatures running into the teens.
Crucially perhaps, even when the traditional tourist season is at an end, you are unlikely to see much more than half a dozen days of rain during a month – making the Costa Blanca a realistic option for a holiday no matter the time of year.
Aside from the favourable weather conditions, one of the main reasons why people have flocked to the Costa Blanca for decades is that the area is home to one of the most popular resorts in Spain.
Featuring an impressive stretch of sand that runs for miles, Benidorm has proven to be the perfect destination for a family break in the sun.
As well as lying back on the beach to top up the tan, there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, with theme parks, waterparks and zoos within easy reach of the resort.

The Old Town of Benidorm is certainly worth a visit during a trip to the Costa Blanca. Take a stroll through the narrow cobbled streets and you’ll be able to visit the various bars that sit within the old white-washed buildings, explore historic sites like San Jamie Church or take a stroll to the Balcon del Mediterraneo for stunning panoramic views of the beaches.
Albir Lighthouse
A walk to the lighthouse is a popular thing to do with tourists who are visiting Albir and want to enjoy some of the best views in the resort. There are various routes to the top of the hill where the lighthouse sits but the vistas that await when you get there are more than worth the trek.
Algar Waterfalls
If you want to spend some time away from the beach, then a trip to the Algar Waterfalls provides a chance to spend some time exploring the scenic beauty to be found away from the Costa Blanca coast. The roaring falls sit in a spectacular nature reserve and many of the pools can be used for swimming if you fancy taking a dip.
Volvo Ocean Race Museum
Alicante is home to a number of museums that explore the history and culture of the city, but as an alternative, the Volvo Ocean Race Museum gives an insight into the famous round the world sailing race. Located in the port area, the museum features a range of immersive activities and also gives the chance to explore a boat that took part in the actual race.
Aqualandia
The Aqualandia Waterpark sits near to Benidorm and is a popular attraction throughout the tourist season for those visiting the Costa Blanca. One of Europe’s tallest waterslides caters for those who love to be thrilled but there are also waves pools and Jacuzzis in which to relax and a splash park for the youngsters.
Guadalest Valley
Located around an hour north of Alicante, Guadalest Valley provides some of the most impressive scenery in the area, with stunning mountains surrounding a deep blue reservoir. You’ll be able to take in the views on the drive there and on arrival can pay a visit to a small castle and jail that sit in a village where you can shop for traditional souvenirs.
