A holiday in Playa del Ingles is likely to be focused on one thing – the beach.
The long stretch of golden sands that leads onto rolling dunes are a major draw for visitors who want to relax and top up their tan.
It’s one of the top beaches to be found anywhere in Europe, and is lined by a busy promenade where you can pick up refreshments or grab a bite to eat.
Further fun on the sand can be had just a short walk away in Maspalomas, where you can explore dunes that look like that could have been lifted straight from the Sahara.
Depending on when you visit, there’s a good chance that you could be able to enjoy one of the many festivals that take place across the year whilst there is no shortage of restaurants and bars.
In fact, when the sun goes down, many of those bars offer entertainment that will run late into the night – with the lively evening scene being another factor that sets Playa del Ingles apart from the rest.

Hit the beach
One of the main attractions of a break in Playa del Ingles is the chance to lie back and relax on some of the best beaches in Gran Canaria. The golden sands stretch for nearly 3km along the coast meaning there is plenty of space for everyone, with a range of different watersports available and plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It’s also not too far to reach the large dunes close to Maspalomas.
Head out to sea
The waters off the coast of Gran Canaria are a great place to try and spot bottlenose dolphins playing together at sea – so why not book onto a cruise that will give you the chance to see them at play in their natural environment? Head for the harbour and there are various boats that offer trips to go dolphin watching, with the possibility that you might also come across whales.
Dance the night away
Playa del Ingles is one of the top party destinations on the island of Gran Canaria so there is no shortage of options when it comes to a night out. Head for the Kasbah Centre and you’ll find various night clubs whilst there are plenty of bars where you can dance to live music whilst enjoying a drink. The famous Pacha club can be found within the resort.
Bogeda Las Tirajanas
Located less than an hour away from Playa del Ingles, the Bogeda Las Tirajanas winery is a great place to visit if you want to learn more about winemaking on the island of Gran Canaria. Of course you won’t to learn the processes involved, you’ll also want to sample the goods for yourself – with white, red and rose all available to try out.
Templo Ecumenico de San Salvador
