Travel to Hawaii with us

The islands of Hawaii are one of the top destinations for those who want to enjoy a little bit of paradise – and plenty of run – during their HOT Holiday away from the home.

The network of islands located in the Pacific Ocean benefit from warm weather throughout the year, thanks largely to the fact that they are located near to the equator.

Although there is a small chance of rain during peak season, it is between November and March that there is the greatest possibility of rainfall – although showers tend to be short and sharp rather than prolonged.

It is worth noting however that the climate can change from one island to another; thanks to no small part to the trade winds coming in from the ocean.

For many people, the key reason why you would choose Hawaii is the beach, and there is no shortage of options when it comes to stretches of golden sand on which to lie back and relax.

Perhaps the best known is Waikiki in the capital city Honolulu, which was once a playground for royalty and is also a great place to try your hand at surfing.

Kauna’oa Beach on the island of Hawaiʻi is great for families given it’s quiet location and the gentle slope into the water for those who want to get their feet wet, whilst Punalu’u Beach provides an interesting alternative to the norm thanks to its famous jet black sand.

This is also the place where you might be lucky enough to see turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs.

That black sand is an indication of the volcanic history of Hawaii, and the Volcanoes National Park is one of the many areas you may wish to explore if spending time away from the beaches.

You could also go whale watching off the coast, visit historic old plantations, explore history and culture and simply embrace traditional island life.

Things To Do

Whale Watching

Hawaii is a fantastic place to head if you want to see whales swimming in the ocean, with humpback whales heading for the islands from the Gulf of Alaska some 3,000 miles away. The waters between Maui, Molokai and Lanai are the best place to spot the animals, although it might also be possible to spot them from land if you get lucky.

Pearl Harbour

The attack on Pearl Harbour in December 1941 was a key date in World War II, with the USA entering the conflict after more than 2,300 troops were killed by the Japanese. Now a National Historic Landmark, Pearl Harbour is a popular destination for tourists who want to discover more about the history behind what happened in the lead up to the attack.

USS Arizona Memorial

The USS Arizona was an American battleship that sank with the loss of more than 1,100 lives during the attack on Pearl Harbour in 1941. Although part of the ship was salvaged, the wreck remains at Pearl Harbour, with the USS Arizona Memorial being created to honour those who died. Straddling the hill and accessible only by boat, the memorial features information about the attack and is free to visit.

Volcanoes National Park

The Volcanoes National Park is located on the island of Hawai’i and is home two active volcanoes – Kīlauea and Mauna Loa. Designated as a World Heritage Site, the park features a visitors centre and museum in which tourists can discover more about the area. There are also various hiking trails within the park.

Pineapple Express

The Pineapple Express train provides a fascinating opportunity to learn more about the way in which pineapples have been harvested in Hawaii, with the small train travelling through the Dole Plantation. You can then take a tour of the gardens or tackle a family friendly maze before heading to the Plantation Grille for lunch.

Atlantis Submarines

There are plenty of options when it comes to diving around the coast of Hawaii, but what if you don’t want to get wet? At three locations around the islands, you can board a passenger submarine that takes you below the surface to explore the ocean; an experience that will live long in the memory.

Wet n Wild Hawaii

Located in Oahu, Wet n Wild Hawaii is the only water park in the country and features more than 20 rides spread across 25 acres – with attractions on site to cater for all ages. That ranges from high-speed slides like the Volcano Express and Shaka, to the Kapolei Kooler lazy river and the Water World Kids Playground. There is also a miniature golf course on site.

Haleakalā National Park

The Haleakalā National Park is another of the top sites in Hawaii for those who want to explore the volcanic side of the islands and also features a sub-tropical rain forest where you can enjoy a hike to explore the unique flora and fauna in the area. Its also a stunning place to watch the sun rise in a morning.
