The Bahamas is one of the most popular destinations within the Caribbean region, with the network of some 700 islands that make up the country attracting visitors from all over the globe.
Dotted along the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, the Bahamas are famed for being something of a haven for relaxation, but also offer the opportunity to embrace island life and to get involved in plenty of action-packed activities to suit all ages.
As with many of its sister nations across the Caribbean, the Bahamas benefits from comfortable warm temperatures across the year, although there is a rainy season that occurs during the summer.
Even then however, you can expect to be greeted by temperatures that run into the 30s, with an average of low to mid 20s during the traditional ‘off season’ months.
With so many islands making up the Bahamas, it should come as little surprise to learn that there are plenty of options for those who simply want to relax.
White sandy beaches where you can lie back in the sun and listen to the sound of the clear blue waters gently lapping against the shores are a major draw, with some of the best beaches in the Caribbean being found across the different islands.
It’s not all about relaxation however, with the waters around the Bahamas being well suited to a range of activities for those who prefer to stay active.
Diving and snorkeling are particularly popular thanks to the various reefs that are waiting to be explored, and are teeming with marine life.
The Bahamas aren’t just about the beach though, with a number of towns and villages that are worth a visit, most notably the likes of Freeport and the capital city Nassau.
The latter in particular welcomes plenty of tourists each year, thanks largely to the many top class hotels that are found on New Providence – the island where Nassau is located.
You can also expect to find a wide range of historical sites, plenty of entertainment options and world class dining in some fantastic restaurants.
If a little taste of island paradise is what you are looking for, then the Bahamas remains a dream destination for a HOT Holiday in the sun.
