Areias Village Hotel 4 stars

The Areias Village Hotel is a lovely complex close to Aveiros Beach, Oura Beach and the ‘strip’, that is the centre of Albufeira’s lively nightlife. It is a closed complex whereby guests can enjoy a peaceful and quiet environment. Areias Village Hotel is just a 15 minute walk from Albufeira Town centre. Here, holidaymakers can stroll around the many shops, bars and restaurants, or wander down to the marina, sit in one of the cafes and watch the yachts coming in and out.

Albufeira is one of the most popular resorts in the Algarve region on Portugal’s southern coastline, mainly because of its fantastic sandy beaches. The Old Town was devastated by an earthquake in 1755 and much of it has disappeared. Historic buildings that still remain include the 14th century Chapel of Mercy, which was once a mosque, part of the castle walls still remain along with the castle’s clock tower, which is lit up on festive occasions.
