Mexico is a popular option for anyone who wants to enjoy a HOT Holiday in the sun, with top class beaches and the opportunity to embrace ancient history and cultures helping to provide a top class experience for overseas visitors.
Located on the fringes of the Caribbean, Mexico benefits from fantastic weather for much of the year, which is part of the reason why a holiday to Mexican soil holds such appeal.
Okay so there is a wet season – that runs from May through to September – where there is a chance of encountering heavy showers but the temperatures will still be pushing into the high 20s during the middle of summer.
Things will cool off slightly in the winter (if mid-20s can be classed as cool) but with plenty of sun in the sky, it remains a fantastic time to visit Mexico if you want to avoid the showers.
The beaches are a major draw when it comes to a holiday in Mexico, particularly in the area around Cancun which is where you’ll find plenty of top quality resorts that sit alongside mile-upon-mile of golden sand.
If you are looking to simply relax, the there is plenty of opportunities to do that just alongside the inviting waters of the Caribbean, which are also suitable for a range of watersports for those who have a desire to stay active.
But it’s not just the Caribbean Coast that will attract the beach lovers, with the Pacific Coast being just as rewarding but perhaps slightly quieter.
You don’t just have to think about the beaches when you consider a holiday in Mexico however, with the country being home to a myriad of impressive historical sites that go back thousands of years.
Head deep into the jungle and you can spend time exploring sites that have an important part to play in the history of the Mayan, Inca and Aztec people – with Mexico being something of a melting pot when it comes to embracing ancient civilizations.
When you add into the mix fantastic Mexican cuisine, the opportunity to swing your hips to salsa music until the early hours and to sample tequila with the locals, it isn’t hard to see why you’d do well to consider Mexico for a holiday in the sun.

Mayan Culture

Los Arcos National Marine Park

The area around the Caribbean coast of Mexico is home to various different cave networks for those who want to enjoy a mystical trip underground. Rio Secreto and Cenote Chaak Tun are just two places where you can swim in underground caverns and explore impressive geological features deep below the surface.
