Read MoreCancun is one of the most popular destinations for overseas visitors heading for Mexican soil and it isn’t hard to see why.
Located on the Yucatan Peninsula along the Caribbean coast, it wasn’t that long ago that Cancun was just a small fishing port where locals would spend their days quietly going about their business.
However, the arrival of the tourist trade has seen Cancun transformed into one of the top destinations in the region for anyone looking to embrace the conditions and enjoy a HOT Holiday in the sun.
The weather in Cancun is reflective of its position close to the Caribbean, with temperatures that run into the 30s during the height of summer of mid-20s during the winter months.
During the summer months you might encounter some rain, although the sharp showers on an evening tend to pass quickly.
One of the top draws of Cancun as a holiday destination is the beach, which runs for more than 20km along the coast.
The stunning white sands are perfect for relaxing under the sun and topping up the tan, although there are also plenty of opportunities to sample different watersports for those who want to be more active.
Given how long the beach stretches for, there are plenty of quiet areas if you want to escape the crowds whilst the popular sections around the heart of the resort are close to plenty of bars and restaurants that line the front.
Once you’ve spent the day enjoying the beach, Cancun is home to some of the best nightlife anywhere in Mexico, with night clubs where you can dance until the early hours and fine dining restaurants where you sample top class cuisine whilst listening to live music.
With a range of activities both in Cancun and the surrounding area to appeal for all manner of travellers, from those travelling alone to couples and families, it is easy to see why the resort is so well visited every year.
