If you fancy a trip to one of Turkey’s liveliest destinations then the resort of Gumbet should be right near the top of the list of options.
Located on the Bodrum Peninsula, the resort is known for being somewhere where there’ll be plenty to do both day and night – making it ideal for couples and groups of friends who want to enjoy a fun-filled HOT Holiday in the sun.
As with other Turkish resorts, sun is something that you won’t be short of no matter when you visit Gumbet, although it’s only natural that during the heights of summer is when you’ll encounter the best conditions.
Expect temperatures that will run into the 30s in the height of summer but if that is a bit too much, then spring or autumn will still offer temperatures comfortably into the 20s with plenty of blue sky weather.
The beaches around Gumbet are particularly impressive, and amongst the most popular in the Bodrum region. With a Blue Flag rating, the beach is perfect for those who want to lie back and relax on the sand but also offers a range of different water-based activities.
Bars and cafes nearby offer somewhere to escape from the sun or to get a refreshing drink to cool down – if you haven’t already done that with a dip in the cool waters of the Aegean Sea.
If you want to take a break from the beach then you could head for nearby Bodrum to explore Turkish heritage and culture in a resort packed with historic sites or explore Gumbet’s many different restaurants and markets.
When the sun goes down on an evening, Gumbet really comes to life, with a relaxed vibe throughout the various bars and clubs that offer evening entertainment.
There’s also plenty for families travelling with children, with the likes of karaoke being one of the evening activities that are suitable for all ages.
Bodrum Market
As with many Turkish resorts, Bodrum has a bustling and busy market, with the Sunday offering being particularly popular. Here you can buy a range of locally produced goods – with the food on offer being something you’ll want to sample.
Take to the water
If you love watersports, or if you want to give them a try, then there are few better places to visit on the Bodrum peninsula than Gumbet. From scuba-diving and snorkeling to parasailing and windsurfing, you’ll be able to sample it in the waters off the coast.
Oasis Shopping Mall
In the market for some designer gear to take back home? If so then the Oasis Shopping Mall is the place to go, with more than 200 stores selling all manner of goods at prices you’re unlikely to find back in the UK.
Traditional dining
Traditional Turkish cuisine can be found across Gumbet with the little network of roads off the main street being home to all manner of restaurants that will allow you to tickle your tastebuds as much as you want.
Aquapark Dedeman
Located on the way to Bodum, the Dedeman Aquapark features more than 20 different slides of varying sizes to cater for all members of the family; meaning visitors old and young alike can make the most of the fun-filled trip to the park.
Bodrum
Bodrum Town is packed with historical delights that you simply have to explore whilst in the area, including the castle, the Museum of Underwater Archaeology and Halicarnassus; ancient ruins that were regarded as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
