Florida is known around the world as the 'Sunshine State' - and the favourable weather conditions that exist for much of the year are a big part of the reason why millions of people head for the state every year from all corners of the globe.
Families in particular are drawn in by the various world-class attractions that are mainly located in the state, many in the area around Orlando. For them, a holiday in the USA is very much a holiday in Florida.
Walt Disney World Resort - with its various different parks - is consistently ranked as one of the most visited attractions anywhere in the world, with the likes of Universal Studios, SeaWorld Orlando, Busch Gardens and the Kennedy Space Centre also welcoming a huge number of visitors on a yearly basis; many of whom have flown in to Florida for their annual break overseas.
The self-proclaimed 'Theme Park Capital of the World' isn't the only reason why you might want to consider taking a break in Florida, which is also home to some of the best beaches in the USA.
Both Miami and Fort Lauderdale have top class stretches of sand, with the former known for its busy nightlife and the latter being a great option if you want to enjoy some designer shopping during your time Stateside.
Head off the mainland towards the Florida Keys and you can spend time exploring the stunning network of islands and enjoy the opportunity to sample a range of water-based activities such as snorkelling and scuba diving, whilst Florida is also home to the Everglades - where a trip on an Airboat whilst travelling across the swaps is something that will live long in the memory.
Should you have a need for speed, then Florida is home to one of the most famous race tracks in the world, with a large number of people booking trips to the State to coincide with the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, which is the biggest event on the NASCAR schedule.
