Corralejo sits on the northern coast of Fuerteventura and is arguably the top destination for those visiting the island.
As with many other resorts across the Canary Islands, Corralejo benefits from favourable weather conditions throughout the year, with the close proximity to Africa helping to ensure that the summers are hot with plenty of sun, whilst winters are mild with little in the way of rain.
Home to a varied range of accommodation to suit all budgets, Corralejo has developed from what was once a small fishing villages into the family friendly resort it is today.
On an island famed for its beaches, Corralejo’s are amongst the best, with upon mile of dunes stretching down the coast towards Puerto del Rosario.
There’s a smaller beach within the resort itself surrounded by bars and restaurants on the waterfront, where you can even catch a boat over to Lanzarote for the day.
Add into the mix the island’s only waterpark to keep the children occupied, a range of dining options for couples wanting a romantic meal for two and plenty of evening entertainment and the appeal of Correlejo for a HOT break in the sun is clear.

Acua Waterpark
The Acua Waterpark is one of the top attractions on the island of Fuerteventura and offers fun for all the family. Easily accessible on the fringes of Corralejo, the park features a range of different water slides for visitors of all ages, with a wave pool and Jacuzzi for those who want to relax. There is also a splash pool for the youngest visitors to enjoy.
Corralejo Market
Held twice a week next to the waterpark, the market in Corralejo is great for picking up a souvenir to take back home, with a range of stalls offering locally produced goods. Be ready to haggle with the sellers if you want to get the best deals.
Grande Playa Beach
Grande Playa Beach sits to the south of Corralejo and it isn’t hard to see why it is one of the best beaches to be found anywhere on the island. The golden sands run for nearly 10km along the coast towards the capital Puerto del Rosario and are backed by stunning dunes that are worth exploring in their own right.
Music Square
Corralejo isn’t the most lively resort on the Canary Islands but that doesn’t mean you won’t find something to keep you entertained when the sun goes down. Music Square is one of the best places to try, with a range of bars and restaurants as well as an open-air stage where various performers will showcase their acts.
Lobos Island
Lobos Island is a small nature reserve that is located on an island off the coast of Fuerteventura that can be easily accessed via ferry from Corralejo. On a day trip, you can explore the native flora and fauna on the island although it should be noted that access is limited to certain areas to aid conservation.
Harbour
The harbour area within Corralejo is the ideal place to go if you want to enjoy some fine dining with the best views of the surrounding sea. Sample top class seafood that has been caught that day or simply relax with a drink as you watch the boats bobbing in the water.
