When it comes to a holiday in Chania there is one thing above all else that acts as the major draw.
The resort on the north coast is famed for its beaches, with the stretch of coast around the resort being home to some of the best there are on the island.
That’s not just within Chania itself, with nearby Agioio Apostoloi being home to an impressive stretch of Blue Flag sand.
The good thing is that each of the beaches can be accessed with ease, thanks to a bus that runs along the best spots to lie back and take in the sun.
A trip down to the Chania’s harbour area is a must to marvel at the historic part of the old town, with an old lighthouse and a number of museums that can be explored.
You’ll also find plenty of bars and restaurants that serve the best in Greek cuisine, with a bustling evening scene when the sun goes down.
There’s plenty of shopping opportunities to add into the mix as well when around the harbour area, ranging from small souvenir shops to the main market where you can pick up handmade goods created by locals.
Given how the harbour is something of a focal point for the resort, you also shouldn’t be shocked that there are plenty of water-based activities available; which range from watersports to cruises out to some of the nearby islands.
