Alanya

Alanya is a popular destination for tourists who are looking to enjoy a HOT Holiday in the Turkish sun.

The city sits on the south-west coast and is known for sandy beaches and historical sites dating back to Medieval times.

Like many resorts on the Turkish coast, Alanya benefits from great weather throughout the year, with hot summers and warm winters.

In peak season, it can get well into the 30s so make sure you pack the sun cream, although in winter you might need a jacket for the evenings when things cool down a little.

Based around a fortified harbour, Alanya is home to two Blue Flag beaches where there is the chance to relax under the sun and top up your tan with impressive views of the nearby castle.

Snorkelling is also popular in the surrounding waters thanks to the various different forms of marine life.

As well as exploring Alanya’s castle, visitors to the city could head for the busting bazaar in search of a bargain, enjoy plenty of traditional cuisine in the local restaurants or head for the harbour area which is where the main evening entertainment is to be found.

That includes a number of discos where you can dance until the early hours if you so desire.
