Playa de las Americas is arguably the top resort for foreign tourists looking to enjoy some sun in Tenerife.

The purpose-built resort sits on the south coast of the island between Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje and features a wide range of accommodation to suit couples and families alike – and to suit all budgets.

Playa de las Americas is also where you will also find one of the biggest attractions on the island, the huge Siam Park waterpark.

Here, there is a myriad of attractions to suit all ages, from huge waterslides (one of which takes you through a tank filled with sharks), to a large wave pool, a man-made beach and a special splash park for youngsters. Fun for all of the family is pretty much guaranteed.

Dance the night away

If you want to enjoy a good night out then Playa de las Americas is probably the best place to visit on the island of Tenerife. Across the resort you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants as well as clubs where you can dance until the early hours.

Siam Park

Playa de las Americas is near to the popular Siam Park waterpark, which can be accessed via a free shuttle service that operates in the resort. The park is home to various slides that are suitable for all ages as well as a large wave pool, and is regarded as one of the best in Europe.

Search for dolphins

The waters off the coast around Playa de las Americas are popular with dolphins so a trip out to sea to try and spot the creatures playing in their natural environment is a must. There are various boats that operate trips so you’ll have plenty of options to chose from.

Light and Music fountain

The light and music fountain in the heart of Playa de las Americas plays a series of shows every evening that last for around 20 minutes. Grab a drink in one of the surrounding bars and you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy the display at leisure.
