The resort centre is approximately 1 km from the hotel and has a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Don't worry as there are other shops, restaurants and tavernas just 200 metres away.

Marelen Hotel & Apartments boasts an outdoor pool, indoor pool and a separate children’s pool with slides and water features. A kid’s club is available for the little ones to enjoy and make some holiday friends. Food is served at the poolside snack bar and a buffet breakfast is served in the dining room. Kalamaki has a golden sandy beach that is a continuation of Laganas Bay. The beach is the breeding ground for the world famous Caretta Caretta sea turtle. These beautiful endangered species lay their eggs on the beach and 8 weeks later, the eggs hatch and the babies hurry down to the moonlit sea and safety. Power boats and jet skis are prohibited in the area, but tourists can take a boat trip and cruise the sea accompanied by the turtles. Another recommended trip is to the other end of the island to shipwreck bay.
