Las Olas Hotel 4 stars

The Las Olas Hotel is just a 10-minute drive from the airport and a few minute's walk to the beautiful volcanic sandy beach in the resort of Playa de los Cancajos, on the island of La Palma.

The large complex offers a Spanish feel throughout, with the different shades of terracotta painted buildings that are surrounded by picturesque gardens full of tropical trees and exotic flowers.

The hotel lobby is a perfect place for relaxing at the comfortable seating areas, where you can feel the gentle breeze that blows through from the ocean and the large ceiling fans and peaceful music playing in the background.

There is a 24 hour reception desk that is available to offer guests many services including currency exchange, luggage storage, laundry service, ironing service and courtesy shower room for guests returning home on a late flight and the multilingual staff can also offer car rental with parking within the hotel grounds and a wealth of knowledge to advise on the best places to visit on the island.

There is a coastal path close to the hotel, that leads you to the beach and if guests want to travel further, there is a local bus service that runs through the resort where you can take a trip to the island's capital Santa Cruz, where you can see the many historical buildings, the fantastic shops and restaurants and the harbour front where you can see the breathtaking cruise liners as they come into the port.

The swimming pool is perfect for cooling down, keeping up with your fitness regime by swimming some lengths and there is a shallow end that is perfect for the children and guests who are not confident swimmers.

Surrounding the pool is a large sun terrace full of sun loungers and parasols for those relaxing days in the sun and refreshments can be enjoyed on the patio of the poolside bar, where you can enjoy and the large selection of drinks and snacks as well as many locally produced beverages and cocktails for the adults.

Onsite there is a gym full of the latest fitness equipment, tennis courts and also bicycle for anyone wanting to venture out and see the surrounding area and its beautiful scenery.

For the children, there is a children's pool, playground and the very popular kids club that is jam packed with fun activities to keep the children entertained throughout their holiday and allowing the adults to enjoy their well-earned break.

There is also Wi-Fi available in all communal area and is free to guests staying at the hotel.

Guests can self-cater with ease with the well-equipped kitchen in the apartments and the large selection of fresh and frozen food that can be purchased at the nearby supermarket.

The evenings are always something to look forward to with the fine dining to suit even the fussiest of eaters and the nightly entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, especially the children.
