The Golden Coast Beach Hotel is in the tourist area of Protaras on a fine sandy beach and is surrounded on three sides by the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

Protaras sprung to life as a tourist resort in the 1980’s as a sophisticated alternative to the livelier resort of neighbouring Ayia Napa. Before becoming a tourist resort, Protaras was virtually uninhabited. The area was covered by a multitude of windmills, some of which still stand, adding to the character of the Protaras landscape.

The sea caves along the coastline are great for those that like to explore and there are many boat trips available. One of the popular places to see is Cape Greko, a protected nature park on the south- eastern point of the island.
