Anagenessis Village Hotel 3 stars

The Anagenessis Village Hotel is located in the village of Kalamaki, on the south-eastern coast of Zante. Surrounded by beautiful gardens, a large outdoor pool, a children’s pool and playground, the hotel provides the perfect spot for a family holiday in the Greek sunshine.

The architecture of Anagenessis Village is based on old traditions and cultures of Zakynthos. The main building is the mansion where the Count and Countess spent their summer holidays. The streets and the fronts of the smaller buildings are replicas of buildings you will find in the old city of Zakynthos with Venetian arches and columns. Rooms are decorated in delicate colours and provide all you will need for a relaxing holiday.

Kalamaki is a popular holiday resort next to Laganas and only 7 km from the main town of Zakynthos. The beach at Kalamaki has very fine sand and crystal-clear waters. The hotel has a swimming pool with a separate children's pool, loungers and parasols.

The beach is also a reproduction place for the famous Caretta Caretta sea turtle. The females lay their eggs in the sand during July and August. The warm sand causes the eggs to hatch after 8 weeks and the baby turtles head immediately to the moonlit sea. Some years ago, the authorities banned night flying to Zante, because the baby turtles were following the lights of the planes and coming to an untimely end.
