St Paul's

St Paul’s is a region on the southern coast of Antigua that has plenty to offer those who are visiting the island on their Caribbean adventure.

As with other areas of the island, St Paul’s is home to a number of impressive hotels where you can relax in luxury and make the most of the favourable Caribbean weather.

Within the region there is no shortage of things to see and do, including the scenic surroundings of Falmouth Harbour - which has a major part to play in local life for the various nearby villages.

Close to the harbour you’ll find two of the most popular beaches in the area, with Pigeon Point and Galleon Beach amongst the best.

The former is regarded as something of a hidden gem and is a great place to lie back in the sun, whilst the latter is somewhere where you might be lucky to see sea turtles or stingrays whilst you take a dip in the clear blue waters.

A number of wrecks below the surface will appeal to those who enjoy diving or snorkelling, with various water-based activities being available.

For history lovers, a visit to Nelson’s Dockyard, named after Admiral Nelson, is an absolute must. Dating back to the 1700s, the Dockyard has undergone extensive renovation work, with many original buildings still standing that now house a museum, two hotels and a range of shops and restaurants - with the whole area now classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Close by is the former military lookout of Shirley Heights; where you can take in stunning views across the surrounding landscapes and enjoy a refreshing drink at the the local bar with some of the best vistas on the island.
