Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is THE landmark that people associate most with Paris and sits on the banks on the Seine within Champ de Mars park. Built in the late 1800s, the tower is one of the must see sights for anyone visiting the French capital, with three separate levels that can be visited – including one of Europe’s highest observation decks. A range of dining and retail options can be found around and within the tower, which is also a popular destination for couples who want to embrace the romance of Paris.

Louvre

You could spend a weekend in Paris and not leave the Louvre, such is the sheer size of the most famous museum in the French capital. Tens of thousands of artifacts can be found within the Louvre, including famous artworks such as the Mona Lisa and sculptures like the Venus de Milo.

Arc de Triomphe

The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous landmarks in Paris and dates back to the 1800s having been commissioned celebrate victory by Napoleon and his troops at Austerlitz. Situated at the end of the Champs-Élysées, the neoclassical monument features a series of impressive sculptures and sits atop the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which is dedicated to those killed in battle who were never identified. A viewing deck is atop the monument if you don’t mind climbing the steps to the summit.

Grand Palais

The Grand Palais, or Grand Palace, was built for the World Fair in 1900 and is listed a monument historique. Having served a range of purposes through the years, the Grand Palais is now used as an exhibition hall and also houses a science musueum. Various events are held within the Grand Palais every year, with the Tour de France having even run through the halls during the 2017 running of the race.

Notre Dame

The Notre Dame cathedral is a fantastic example of Gothic architecture and is one of the most famous religious buildings to be found within France. Completed in the mid 1300s, the buildings attracts millions of visitors every year and is known for its gargoyles and impressive stained glass windows.

Disneyland Paris

Located around 30km from the centre of the capital, Disneyland Paris is the most visited theme park in Europe and a popular attraction with families who want to enjoy the Disney experience.
