Travel to Milan with us

If you are a lover of fashion and design, then there are few destinations that can match Milan for a short city break.

The city sits in the Lombardy region towards the North West of Italy and is also known around the world for being one of the best places to go if you are seeking top end dining and some of the best shopping around.

No matter when you decide to visit Milan, an unforgettable experience is pretty much guaranteed although many will head for the city during spring or autumn when slightly lower temperatures keep things pleasant.

Even in the middle of summer, things won’t get too hot although the levels of humidity will increase, whilst you’ll need to pack a jacket if you plan a trip to Milan in the middle of winter – when the average temperatures will be little over freezing.

Modern day Milan features plenty to keep those who want to examine Italian culture busy, with the Santa Maria delle Grazie and La Scala being just two of the historical sites within the city that should feature highly on the ‘to do’ list.

But, whilst the old has its part to play on a trip to Milan, the city is one which is very much all about the here and now.

The fact that Milan is often referred to as Italy’s fashion capital should tell you everything you need to know about the city, and you’ll be able to spend time enjoying some of the best shopping around.

Expect to see all of the big names from the fashion world represented , with the area around the Quadrilatero d'Oro being the place where you’ll want to visit for outfits that could have come straight from the catwalk.

Of course, the prices that those outfits command might be out of reach and in that case, there are both high street and outfit options aplenty where you can seek to pick up a bargain.

You’ll also find yourself somewhat spoiled for choice when it comes to dining in Milan, with the city being home to some of the best restaurants anywhere in Italy.

Expect to find culinary treats from across Europe with a number of restaurants carrying Michelin stars although as the other end of the scale, you won’t be short of options if you just want a quick bite to eat whilst exploring the sights.

There are also plenty of bars on an evening for those wanting to embrace the nightlife.
