Kos Town

Kos Town is the bustling capital of the island of the same name and sits to the north of the island.

Blending old and new together, the resort is packed with history and heritage but also contains plenty of modern accommodation options that will cater for all tastes and budgets.

For those who want to embrace the historic side of the resort, then a visit to the Castle of Neratzia near the harbour is a must whilst there are plenty of examples of Roman Ruins to be found around the capital.

You can also head outside the resort to visit the remains of Asclepeion – a Greek sanatorium located around 4km along the coast that is regarded as one of the top tourist attractions on the island.

For those who simply wish to relax on the beach, there is a beach that comprises of sand and pebbles located next to the medieval walls of the castle, which is particularly popular with locals and tourists alike.

That’s down in part to the fact that there are plenty of bars and cafes nearby, with other beaches available nearby for those who might be looking to escape some of the crowds.

Within Kos, you can expect to find plenty of entertainment options, whilst you can also find a bargain to take back him in the myriad of shops – or at the bustling indoor market where you can find a range of authentic gifts.

Given how close Kos is to mainland Turkey, it’s also possible to take a trip to Bodrum by boat, which can be accessed in around half an hour or so.
