Freetown

Freetown is located on the southeast corner of the island of Antigua and is home to a number of impressive hotels that are ideal for those looking for a touch of luxury on their Caribbean adventure.

One of the main attractions for anyone planning to holiday in or around Freetown is the nearby beach of Half Moon Cay.

The beach is widely regarded as one of the best that Antigua has to offer, with stunningly beautiful white coral sand sitting alongside clear blue waters. A number of top class hotels and impressive restaurants can be found nearby.

Head out of town and around 20 minutes away to the North you’ll find Stingray City, which is one of the top attractions anywhere on the island.

En-route, you might want to call in and visit Betty’s Hope; a former sugar plantation where one of the old sugar mill towers has undergone full restoration work to show how it would have operated in years gone by.

Journey south and Nelson’s Dockyard is within half an hour, with the UNESCO World Heritage Site being one of the leading heritage sites in the Caribbean region.

Named after Admiral Nelson, the harbour area is home to a museum in the old Naval Officer’s house as well as Shirley Heights Lookout; where you can enjoy some of the best views in Antigua.
