Head for the Marina

Dubai Marina can be easily accessed from the heart of the city and is the main hub for a range of different water-based activities. You might want to consider a high-speed blast along the coast on a speedboat or perhaps you would prefer the more sedate experience of a trip on a yacht with food and drink included. A sunset cruise in particular offers the chance to experience a different view of the city.

Hit the dunes

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, then why not go inland to explore the stunning beauty of the surrounding sand dunes. If you want the authentic experience, then you can make the trip on the back of a camel but there are also plenty of chances to hop into a 4x4 or jump on a quad bike whilst you might even get chance to sample sandboarding.

Retail therapy

If you love shopping then Dubai is certainly the right place for you, with the city being home to some of the biggest and best shopping malls to be found anywhere in the world. The Dubai Mall is the largest of the lot with more than 1,000 stores but the Festival City Mall and the Mall of the Emirates are both as appealing - albeit on a smaller scale. Head for City Walk and you’ll find a mix of fashion boutiques where you can grab yourself a bargain.

Visit the Fountain

Paying a visit to a fountain might not sound like the most interesting way to spend some of your time in Dubai, but the Dubai Fountain is a world away from anything you are likely to have seen before. Located near to the Burj Khalifa, the fountain comes live on an evening with a spectacular musical display taking place every half an hour through until 11pm. With restaurants and bars providing the ideal place to watch the show, it’s a great way to spend an evening.
