Eight cocktails to try around the world
One of the best things about heading abroad on holiday ...
Read MoreFor a long time, Cuba was the destination where time stood still but the largest island in the Caribbean is now undergoing huge change following the end of a long-standing trade embargo with the USA.
Sitting to the south of Florida, Cuba is a premier destination for a HOT Holiday in the sun, with plenty of opportunity to explore an island packed with character and that is unlike anything else in the region.
One thing that is similar to the likes of Barbados and the Dominican Republic however is the favourable weather conditions that can be found throughout the year.
Temperatures during the summer months will run into the early 30s although this is also the time of year when you can expect to encounter some rain. Visit from November through to April during the dry season and you’ll still have temperatures of in the mid 20s to enjoy.
If a beach break is what you are looking for, then there are plenty of options available, particularly if you head to the popular resort of Varadero or head off the north coast to visit either Cayo Coco or Cayo Guillermo.
Here, you can enjoy relaxing on mile-upon-mile of stunning white sands that border the clear blue waters of the Atlantic ocean before taking a refreshing dip to cool off from the sunshine.
Off the coast, there are also plenty of options when it comes to diving or to sampling a range of different water based activities.
On the other side of the coin, no trip to Cuba would be complete without a visit to the capital city Havana; where you could almost lose yourself in the rich history of the island.
Historical buildings are to be found at every turn, whilst classic American cars from the 50s and 60s travel through the streets; an iconic symbol known the world over.
With the chance to see how the famous Cuban cigars are made by hand, to listen to local music and to sample rum and cocktails in a myriad or bars and restaurants, it’s an experience that will live long in the memory.
A bit like a trip to one of the Caribbean’s crown jewels.
