Seven Mile Beach

Although not quite as long as the name suggests, Seven Mile Beach is the top beach in the Cayman Islands - and one of the most famous in the Caribbean. Situated on the western end of Grand Cayman, the long stretch of coral sand is home to plenty of hotels and restaurants which makes it the centre of the tourist trade.

Hell

Welcome to Hell hardly sounds like a selling point, but this area of Grand Cayman has become one of its more popular visitor attractions. The infamous name comes from the appearance of a group of black limestone formations that can be viewed from specially constructed viewing platforms.

Pedro St James Castle

The oldest stone building in the Cayman Islands, Pedro St James Castle on Grand Cayman dates back to the 1700s and has played a key role in the history of the islands - including being the place where slavery in the Caymans was abolished. Having undergone extensive renovation work, the castle is now home to a visitors centre and houses various exhibits.

Stingray City

Located in the North Sound of Grand Cayman, Stingray City is a premier diving site made up of a series of sandbars where you are able to get close to southern stingrays in their natural environment. You don’t have to dive if you don’t want to, with the creatures happy to venture to shallower waters where you won’t need to wear anything beyond a bathing suit or swimming shorts.

M/V Captain Keith Tibbetts

There are plenty of diving sites around the Cayman Islands, with one of the more interesting being the remains of a Russian frigate located off Cayman Brac. Dubbed the M/V Captain Keith Tibbetts, the wreck was deliberately sunk in the 1990s to act as a dive site and it found around 200m off the western tip of the island.

Owen Island

Sitting off the coast of Little Cayman, Owen Island is privately owned but can be accessed by the public who to spend a day either relaxing on the sand at leisure or taking a dip in the Caribbean’s clear blue waters.

Cayman Turtle Centre

The Cayman Turtle Centre is one of the premier attractions on Grand Cayman. The 23 acre park was first created to help breed the endangered green sea turtle and is now an important conservation facility that is home to turtles of all sizes.

USS Kittiwake

Like the M/V Captain Keith Tibbetts, the USS Kittiwake was sunk deliberately to act as an artificial reef and sits off the coast of Seven Mile Beach. It has become a premier diving site with visitors taking the chance to explore the marine life that can be found across the five decks.
