Alcudia is the main resort to the north of Majorca and one that is certainly worth considering if you plan to head to the island for your fix of summer sun.
Around 45 minutes from the airport, Alcudia is a fascinating resort of contrasts that blends the old and new together in perfect harmony.
Long sandy beaches are a major draw and being sheltered somewhat by the Aucanada Peninsula means they are perfect for families who want to enjoy the calm waters.
A promenade runs alongside the main beaches and is home to a range of bars, restaurants, shops and cafes; ideal for refreshments or simply to take a break and watch the world go by.
The waters off Alcudia are also suitable for a range of activities such as jetskiing and paragliding, with snorkeling and scuba diving also being popular.
Alcudia isn’t just about the beach though, with the Old Town featuring a range of historical buildings that date back as far as the 13th century. It means there is a plenty of opportunity to marvel at the history of the island and explore authentic Majorcan life.
Within easy reach of the resort you’ll also find a popular waterpark and the S'Albufera Natural Park; only serving to further show why Alcudia is perfect for visitors of all ages.
During the summer months of June, July, August and September the temperatures are usually around 28-32 degrees before the winter months sees the temperatures drop to around 15-18 degrees.
That makes it the ideal place for a HOT Holiday regardless of the time of year.

Hidropark
One of the top waterparks to be found anywhere in Majorca, the Hidropark in Alcudia is the only one located towards the north of the island and is one of the most popular attractions in the resort. There is a splash pool area for small children as well as more high-speed, high-adrenaline offerings like kamikaze – making it a great day out for visitors of all ages.
Hit the beach
Alcudia is home to a fantastic beach that runs for more than 3km alongside the resort and where you will have plenty of opportunities to lie back and enjoy the sun. The shallow waters, and the fact there are plenty of lifeguards around, also mean it’s a good place for families to spend a day relaxing. You can also sample various watersports off the coast.
Old Town
The Old Town is the historic part of Alucudia and an area you should certainly spend some time exploring whilst in the resort. You’ll feel very much like you’ve taken a step back in time when you explore the walled city that is packed with traditional old markets, fantastic restaurants selling Majorcan cuisine and impressive boutique hotels.
Pollentia
Close to the Old Town you’ll find the roman ruins of Pollentia. Here, you can gain an insight into what the resort was like thousands of years ago, with the archaeological site that contains the ruins of a whole residential area whilst there is a museum where you can explore various artefacts that have been uncovered through years of excavation work.
Market
Everyone loves a bargain and never more so than when away on holiday seeking out souvenirs. The market in Alcudia runs on a Sunday and is packed with stalls selling all manner of goods and you better be prepared to try and haggle if you want to secure the best possible price.
Marina dining
There are no shortage of dining options when you book a break in Alcudia but if you want to enjoy the very best cuisine then you need to head for the marina area. As with many coastal resorts across the Balearics, seafood is particularly popular and the fresh produce available around Alcudia’s marina is some of the best there is.
Golf Alcanada
If you love a round of golf, and are up for the challenge, then Golf Alcanada will be right up your street. As well as enjoying some of the best views on the island you’ll also be able to tackle one of Majorca’s top courses as designed by top architect Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Hit the bars on Dollar Street
If you want a night out in Alcudia then Dollar Street is the place to go, with plenty of bars in which you can grab a drink and a range of options for those who want to dance until the early hours.
