Why it isn't the end of the world to travel alone
When it comes to booking a break in the sun, it’s pretty normal to be looking to travel with your partner, or for those who have children, as part of a family.
But that’s not something that applies to everyone.
There are plenty of single people out there who enjoy a break away from home as much as anyone and now, seemingly more than every before, those singles are embracing the opportunity to head off to sunnier climes.
ABTA’s Holiday Habits Report, released earlier in the autumn, showed more people are now embracing the opportunity to take a break on the own for a variety of reasons.
For some, circumstances may have meant they no longer have the option of travelling with a partner, whilst for others – particularly amongst the younger age ranges – a solo break is seem as the ideal way to explore and enjoy new experiences that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
There’s also the fact that if you are travelling alone, you only have to argue with yourself about what to do with your time and don’t have to try and make sure you please others as well.
None of the ‘But I want to spend the day by the pool’ or ‘Let’s go and pay x a visit’ – you do what you want, when you want.
An ever increasing number of hotels now provide rooms that have been designed or solo travellers, which helps to get rid of the historical premium that would be added on for a single person making use of a double room.
You could even book into a solo cabin on a cruise ship if you wanted to embrace life on the high seas, with many of the major players in the cruise industry introduced accommodation.
So if you are single and looking for an adventure overseas, but aren’t sure where to turn, then why not drop us a line and see what offers we have that could be right up your street…
