Hit the beach

Lanzarote is famous for its beaches and Los Pocillos is one of the best. The golden sands are perfect for families who want to relax under the sun with the calm waters being well suited to children who want to take a dip. Head a bit further out and the wind will get up enough to try your hand at windsurfing, or a range of other watersports.

Rancho Texas Park

Rancho Texas Park offers fun for all the family, with the themed resort offering the chance to take part in a range of activities to suit all ages. There’s a waterpark with a selection of slides, an animal park that is home to a wide range of different species and the chance to partake in various western themed activities – including pretending to pan for gold.

Waterfront dining

There are loads of options when it comes to dining in Playa de los Pocillos, but there is something special about sitting down for a bite to eat along the waterfront promenade. Whether you want to sample some traditional Spanish fare, fancy some freshly caught seafood or would prefer to try something more oriental, you’ll certainly find something to suit your tastes.

Timanfaya National Park

Head inland from the beach and you can pay a visit to the dramatic landscapes of the Timanfaya National Park. Explore volcanic craters that have been left by eruptions that took place hundreds of years ago and enjoy the unique experience of dining in a restaurant where geothermal activity under the earth’s crust is used to grill your food.

Sample local wines

The favourable weather conditions on Lanzarote are perfect for wine-making, so it makes sense to add a trip to one of the local vineyards into your trip if at all possible. Within easy reach of Playa de los Pocillos, you can visit Bodega el Grifo, one of the oldest wineries on Lanzarote to not only sample the goods but also see how they are created.

Puerto del Carmen

It’s only a short walk to Puerto del Carmen along the waterfront, with the opportunity to make the most of the various attractions in one of the top resorts on the island. Hit the beach, dine in top class restaurants or seek out a bargain in the local markets before enjoying the picturesque stroll back to your hotel.
