Palma Nova is a popular family destination on the South West coast of Majorca that is the quiet neighbour to the more bustling resort of Magaluf.

Around 30 minutes from the airport, Palma Nova benefits from good weather throughout the year, which makes it a viable option for a break no matter whether you are looking to travel in the middle of summer or in the depths of winter.

For those who want to relax on the beach, there are three to chose from around the bay on which Palma Nova sits, with Playa Palma Nova – the middle of the three – being the most popular.

The Blue Flag rated beach features plenty of white sand and is ideal for families given the levels of cleanliness and also the fact there is a park nearby.

Off the beaches, you can also try a range of different watersports, whilst a promenade that runs behind is home to a range of different shops and restaurants.

It means there is the chance to sample cuisine from around the world, and also to pick up various souvenirs to take back home.

That promenade also runs all the way to Magaluf for those who want to make the most of the nightlife, which is more bustling than that found within Palma Nova itself.

That’s not to say there isn’t anything to do on an evening for those who want to stay within Palma Nova, with a range of bars and restaurants that are suitable for families and couples alike.

Within easy access of Palma Nova, there is fun for all the family available at the likes of the Aqualand Waterpark, Golf Fantasia and Marineland – where you can marvel at fantastic dolphin and sealion shows.

Things To Do

Relax on the beach

As with many other resorts on the island of Majorca, Palma Nova is home to an impressive beach where you can lie back and enjoy the sunshine. The beach benefits from Blue Flag status and shallow waters that lap onto the golden sands – making it a great place to take a refreshing dip.

Crazy Golf

Majorca might have a few golf courses for those who want to fit in a round whilst away from home but for those who are taking things a bit less seriously, there is always Golf Fantasia, a mini golf course located in tropical gardens with no fewer than three different 18 hole courses to try out.

Palma City

You aren’t too far from the capital city during a break in Palma Nova so you could enjoy a day exploring the sights and sounds of Palma. Pay a visit to the imposing cathedral, dine on fresh seafood around the harbour or stroll through the narrow cobbled streets as you explore the quaint bars and local shops.

Hit the themeparks

One of the top attractions on the island is Katmandu Park and you don’t have far to go to reach the park when staying in Palma Nova. There is fun for all ages once you arrive, with the House of Magic, a 4D cinema and a waterpark being the major attractions. The Aqualand Waterpark with its various slides is also located nearby.
